The Kindness of Strangers

Dear Friends,

On Tuesday, our city was paralyzed by a winter storm that brought out the worst possible Atlanta traffic . . . and the best possible in human nature.

On the news and Facebook, in e-mails and conversations, stories unfolded about the kindness of strangers – store merchants and restaurant managers taking in stranded motorists through the night, neighbors on the road for hours to deliver children safely home, people delivering food, others offering a spare couch to drivers who were forced to abandon their cars. The list goes on.

It’s highly probable that Atlanta will have snow again in the years ahead. But, I image we’ll never forget the good deeds of these last few days that were as soft and abundant as the snow that blanketed our bright city.

With much gratitude for the human spirit,

Terry
