Motivating members to greater commitment

To a packed room, with people sitting around all the walls, the session leaders addressed burnout, overwork, and too few folks doing too much work.

People need leadership, validation, a sense of alignment with the vision of the organization, treatment with respect and trust, recognition, and the sense of having done a quality job.

What is leadership? Leaders must do three things:
1) set the vision, purpose, and direction for the congregation
2) get commitment to the vision and stick to the commitment over time
3) deal with unexpected events that the congregation has never faced.
