Thanks Be

Dear Friends,

This week before Thanksgiving has me thinking about family, friends, and traditions.  I’m also aware that this time for us at Northwest is changed as we grieve the loss of Summer, remember her vibrant spirit, and hold the Dale family in our hearts.

I came upon these words by Unitarian Universalist Minister Rev. Robert Mabry Doss and found them meaningful for me – and I hope for you, too:

When giving thanks comes hard for you,
And things are grim, and hope runs thin,
Recall:

Despair’s a door to pass on through,
And not a home for living in.

When thanksgiving fills your cup,
And those you love are all about,
Look at your blessings,
count them up,
And give back something to the world without.

Go in peace.
Go for peace.

For all who see God,
May God go with you.

For all who embrace life,
May life return your affection.

For all who seek a right path,
May a way be found . . .

And the courage to take it
Step by step.

Peace and blessings to you on Thanksgiving and each day.  And thanks be to you, dear and compassionate friends.

Yours,
Terry
