First Universalist Church – Meeting Minutes, Sep 4, 1901 (New Organist)

The regular monthly business meeting of the Board was had on the above date at the church; the following member being present: R.M. Crone, James Harvey, F.M. Marsh, Dr. McGlauflin and J.C. Bond.

The minutes of the meeting held on Aug 9th and 25th were read and approved.

The treasurer reported a balance on hand of $22.81.

Upon motion following warrants on Treasurer were ordered drawn: Miss Matha Smith $5.00 and Mist Bert Crone $5.00 in full of service for singing.

Letter from Dr. H. Hitchcock was then read in which he tendered his resignation as organist and upon motion said resignation was accepted and the Secretary was instructed to write said Mr. Hitchcock a letter of regrets at his resignation also expressing our deep appreciation and thanks for the valuable services he had so graciously rendered us for the past few months.

Upon motion, the Board empowered Dr. McGlauflin as chairman of the Music Committee to employ Miss Jasmine Cramer as organist authorizing to pay her not exceeding $2.00 per month for such services; also that he make such arrangement as he deemed wise as to the renting her the ladies parlor for teaching music.
