Join us on Saturday, February 4th, as Hungry Ear Coffeehouse presents – John Cable, Billy Gewin and friends!

Just returning from Wales, John Cable and Billy Gewin will be introducing new material from their most recent project called The Red Planet, a transcontinental project involving some of the best English and Welsh folk musicians. http://populatetheredplanet.com.

The record, ā€œWhiskey and the Wavesā€ will be available in February, 2017.

John Cable is a veteran musician who began his career in the late 60s. After serving as lead guitarist and vocalist for Texas country rock pioneers, Colours, John became a member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. In 1976, they became the first American band in history to perform in the Soviet Union. John became the first American to lecture at the Moscow Conservatory of Music on the history of Western Blues and Rock music. John has performed on The Tonight Show, Don Kirshnerā€™s Rock Concert, The Midnight Special, Austin City Limits and the Grand Ole Opry. He has performed in some of the great concert venues as well, including Wolftrap, Carnegie Hall and Red Rocks. John still occasionally plays with NGDB leader, John McEuen.

 

Billy Gewin is a Multi-Instrumentalist, Vocalist, Singer-Songwriter, and Studio Engineer, with three CDā€™s to his credit. He studied music at Georgia State University and has played with various duos, trios, and bands in the Atlanta Metro area. Billy is the owner of Cave Cricket Studios. Doors open at 7:30. Music starts at 8:00. $5.00 suggested donation at the door. Canned goods for the Community Assistance Center (OurCAC.org) in Sandy Springs and donations for the musicians are always appreciated.
