Jazz for the Holidays- December 6th Bill Fielder & Mark Tucker Trio

Jazz Trumpeter, BILL FIELDER with special guest and Mark Tucker Trio Bring Sounds of Jazz to the Hungry Ear, December 6th

BillFielder Sandy Springs’ best little music spot for live acoustic and jazz, the Hungry Ear Coffee House at Northwest Unitarian Universalist Congregation, presents two acts Saturday, December 6th. Atlanta Jazz Trumpeter Bill Fielder takes the stage with a nationally-known guest, followed by the straight-ahead jazz sounds of the Mark Tucker trio and Lori Perozzi.

Bill Fielder is bringing his special “touch of Jazz” to Hungry Ear. He started playing trumpet and singing as a teen, and jazz is interwoven throughout his life. He studied trumpet with Joe Gransden, and recently completed a movie script titled The Chet Baker Story. Performing jazz standards, he’ll be accompanied by a nationally known jazz pianist this special night at Hungry Ear. “It’s rare to find someone as passionate and accomplished in both vocal and trumpet as Bill Fielder. He’s a true gem in the community of local jazz musicians and always supportive of the next generation” says the owner of Alpharetta’s Blue Note.

The Mark Tucker Trio with vocalist Lori Perozzi performs a swinging blend of vocal and instrumental standards-with-a-twist as well as original jazz tunes in the classic Blue-Note style.Mark Tucker Trio

The Mark Tucker Trio has been playing straight-ahead Jazz in the North Atlanta area for over 5 years. The trio performs a blend of originals and standards in the classic Bill Evans Trio style. The musicians in the group (Terry Vinyard, Phil Bonpastore, Mark Tucker) have played in NY, Miami and the Atlanta area for a number of years and have honed their chops for the past few years playing small group and big band dates all around the Atlanta area.

Lori Perozzi has a rich, mellow voice that has captivated her audiences since she began singing professionally at age 19.  She has performed as a solo artist in clubs, restaurants and private venues throughout the southeast, spending most of her time in the Atlanta area.  Lori’s love of the standards and the soulful sound of the torch singers strongly influenced her vocal style and led her to a sound of her own.
