Lunch with TED, August 20

Come to join us for great fellowship at Lunch with TED on August 20. We meet in the Art Gallery from 11:45 am until 1:15 pm. Bring your lunch.

We have had so many great TED talk options that we find it a shame to miss out on any of them! In July we decided to save psychologist Paul Bloom’s “Can prejudice ever be a good thing?” for our August talk. Sharon Reynolds will facilitate this tricky topic.

Bloom seeks to show that prejudice is often natural, rational . . . even moral. The key, says Bloom, is to under-stand how our own biases work—so we can take control when they go wrong. Bloom explores some of the most puzzling aspects of human nature, including pleasure, religion and morality. This is sure to stimulate some great conversation!
