A Night of Acoustic Singer-Songwriters: Bob Bakert and Lara Herscovitch on June 7th

 

Two acclaimed, acoustic performers will take the stage Saturday June 7th at 8:00pm at the Hungry Ear Coffee House in Sandy Springs at the Northwest Unitarian Universalist Congregation 1025 Mt. Vernon Highway NW in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

 Lara Herscovitch is an “extraordinarily talented” (smother.net) American songwriter, poet, singer, performer, and policy social worker.  Lara Herscovitch
“Pure musical poetry”, Lara’s award-winning music is highly original, modern folk with shades of blues, jazz, and pop. With her voice “clear and smooth like expensive liquor,” she stands “above and beyond the pack”

Bob Bakert is a life-long, dedicated and passionate songwriter, singer, guitarist. He has performed for over 40 years in countless venues.  His guitar and vocal experience comes from several different genres of music, from Americana, Folk, R&B, Motown, Rock, blues and Jazz and his style has morphed into one that blends all of them and is truly his own- “decidedly relaxed and low key with a smoldering energy” is the way one reviewer put it.

Combining all of the influences of contemporary American music., Bob Bakert’s  show is a carefully crafted set including original music as well as many favorites.   Bob will feature songs from his newly released CD “Finger Paintings” as well as iconic acoustic artists like James Taylor and Gordon Lightfoot and jazz artists like Nat King Cole.

About the HungrBob Bakerty Ear Coffee House: The Hungry Ear is an outreach program of the Northwest Unitarian Universalist Congregation, promoting religious freedom, spiritual growth and ethical action in a world where racial, cultural and religious diversity is a reality. Concerts are held on the first Saturday of every month and regularly feature a lineup of nationally acclaimed folk, country, jazz and vocal artists. Admission is generally $5 with open seating except during special engagements.
