It is only through the gifts of caring, time, dedication, financial support, and personal efforts of the people of our congregation we are able to come together in community and do the work and business of our faith. For these gifts we offer our continuing thanks.
The congregation is led by a Board of Trustees , and much of the work of the congregation is done by the various ministry teams.

Coming in the FallReverend Morris Hudgins will come to Northwest as our Interim Minister on August 15.
Morris is currently the Interim Senior Minister at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial UU Church in Charlottesville, Virginia. He has previously served as Interim Minister in Chapel Hill, NC, and Richmond, Virginia. Our own Keith and Marcia Krecik knew him in Richmond. Morris’ wife Marti was a member of Northwest many years ago.
Prior to choosing Interim Ministry as a career path, Morris had been the Settled Minister at UU congregations in Cincinnati Ohio (1998-2005), Raleigh, NC (1987-1998), Delaware County, Pennsylvania (1979-87) , and Boca Raton, Florida 1973-79). While in Raleigh, Morris served as chaplain at N.C. State University.
Morris felt called to the ministry when he was in high school. He went to Divinity School at Duke and was originally ordained as a Methodist minister before “converting” to UU in 1973. Morris will bring a wealth of experience, energy, and leadership to Northwest. As he says, “Every church is a testing ground for different theories of interim ministry. I have been very successful in my approaches in Richmond, Chapel Hill, and Charlottesville and want to see if these methods apply to other churches.”
Reverend Hudgins was selected by a special Interim Task Force appointed by the Board of Trustees. Karen Edmonds, Linton Hopkins, and Bill Cox served on the Task Force. |
