Tapestry of Faith
Tapestry of Faith
Our overall religious education program is based on the curriculum called Tapestry of Faith. This curriculum developed by the Unitarian Universalist Association is broad religious education programs and resources for all ages.
For our youngest children (K-1), the Wonderful Welcome program teaches our children to identify intangible gifts central to Unitarian Universalism such as friendship, hospitality and fairness, and share these gifts with others.
The Toolbox of Faith (Grades 4 – 5) helps our children to reflect on qualities of our Unitarian Universalist faith, such as integrity, courage and love, as tools they can use in living their lives and building their own faith.
For our high school aged children, we understand they make hundreds of decisions every day. Some are small. Some are life changing, although we may not know their significance when we make them. The Virtue Ethics program borrows from the words of the Buddha, “our thoughts and actions become habits and our habits shape our character.” Our young adults learn that they have control over our character and can shape the person we want to be by making intentional, thoughtful decisions.
There is much, much more we could share with you about our Religious Education program. Come visit and meet with your Directory of Religious Education (DRE). Or contact our DRE via email and open a dialogue so you can understand the value we place on equipping our children in an ever-diverse religious world community.
Religious Education Can be Fun
Building bodies and social connections is important. On our large playground, our children have an opportunity to swing, slide, run and have some unstructured free time under careful adult supervision from our team of Religion Education teachers. We also provide opportunities for our children to interact
