Unitarian Church of Atlanta – Meeting Minutes, Jan 11, 1909 (Annual Meeting)

Annual Meeting of a Unitarian Church Jan. 11, 1909

The meeting was called to order by Harding Chairman; the number present being 35.

The minutes of last annual meeting were read and approved.

The report of the Treasurer was read and his written report is herewith filed, having, been received and ordered spread on the minutes.

Upon motion duly carried it was ordered that the minutes of Church meetings held since the regular annual meeting be approved without reading.

Mr. Douglas Supt. of Sunday School made a verbal report to be followed by written report, which will be attached and made a part of these minutes.

Mrs. Behre President of the Woman’s Alliance made a highly satisfactory and encouraging report of the work of that Organization, which report was received and adopted.

The Pastor Mr. Rowlett read his report which is hereto attached having been approved and made a part of the minutes.

Under the head of new business the Treasurer reported the amount of subscriptions received by him up to date for the year 1909 to be $1,021.00 there being still a number of members from whom he expected to receive subscriptions.

The report of Mr. Behre Chairman of the nominating committee read and received and the same is filed with these minutes.

A motion duly carried directed the Clerk to cast the ballot for the entire ticket as presented which was done.

A discussion was held on the value of the Calendar advertising and whether a subscription should be made by the Church. Matter referred to Board of Trustees.

Upon Motion duly carried the Pastor was made a committee of one to arrange for the distribution of Church literature at the door.

Motion for adjournment carried.
