Unitarian Church of Atlanta – Meeting Minutes, Apr 16, 1907 (Finance, Attendance, Curtail Expenses)

Atlanta, Ga., April 16, 1907

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees held this evening at the residence of Mr. J.C. Peck 97 Ivy Street.

Present: Messrs. Peck, Behre, Watts, Francis, St. Amand, Harding and Rev. R.R. Shippen.

Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved.

The Treasurer submitted his report which was read approved and ordered spread on the minutes as follows:

From Mar 12th to April 17, 1907 inclusive $156.06
Amount due Treasurer $5.03

Assets in hand of Treasurer:

 Note Ralph H. Brown $37.50
Total $83.75

The Clerk reported attendance as follows:

Mar 17th – 82
Mar 24th – 52
Mar 31st – 60
Apr 7th – 45
Apr 14th – 50
Total – 289
Average – 57 4/5

The financial condition of the church was thoroughly discussed by the Treasurer with the Board, and in the opinion of the Board it was deemed necessary to curtail expenses.

With that end in view upon motion, the music committee was directed to discontinue the services of the two paid lady singer, much to the regret of the entire Board, with the month of April.

There being no further business meeting adjourned.
