Memo – SUUSI Re: Southeast Camp and Conference Center (May 25, 1979)

SOUTHEAST UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST SUMMER INSTITUTE

SUBJECT: UUA ADMINISTRATION POSITION
RE SOUTHEAST CAMP AND CONFERENCE CENTER

FROM: C. L. WHEELER

DATE: MAY 25, 1979.

In a conversation with UUA President, Gene Pickett today, he stated that the administration does support the Southeast Camp and Conference Center venture and the resulting program.

He further indicated that our proposal was well developed and they believe that a responsible group of people is behind this effort. Based on UUA extension plans and their assessment of Tri District programming use, they further felt this would be of significant value to the Denomination. In assessing annual program fund and other UU fund raising efforts, they do not believe our efforts will be unduly competitive.

Gene indicated this information could be used with any potential funding sources with the exception of the Veatch program. If needed-by us, he will be willing to put this statement in writing and/or make personal phone calls to any individuals we identify. In such situations, any such requests should be funneled through either Roger Comstock or Mo/Larry Wheeler.
