Church of Our Father – Meeting Minutes of Mar 22, 1890 (Attendance Motion)

Atlanta, Ga. Mar 22, 1890
A meeting of the Standing Committee was held in the Church this evening.
Present were Messrs. Chaney, Dixon, Crafts, Harding, Burns

Meeting was called to order by Mr. Chaney and Mr. Harding appointed Chairman for the evening.

Informal discussion about the appointment of additional members to the present Board.

Following resolution offered by Mr. Dixon –

Resolved that it shall be the duty of the Clerk to call a meeting of the Standing Committee for the last Friday of each month to attend to such business as may be presented.

That is shall be the duty of the Clerk to be present at such meetings and keep the minutes or in case of unavoidable absence to have his minute’s book present.

That any officer of the Church or member of the Standing Committee absenting himself from these monthly meetings for three successive meetings without rendering an acceptable excuse for absence may have his office or membership on the Standing Committee declared vacant in such case his successor shall be elected at the next monthly meeting after such vote has been carried.

This resolution seconded by Mr. Crafts. After discussion it was passed over to next monthly meeting for second reading and vote.

Motion by Mr. Crafts that the Treasurer be instructed to arrange with the agent for the Church notice advertisement in regard to placing fine notices of Church of Our Father “services” in the hotels. Carried.

No further business presenting itself, the meeting adjourned.
