Atlanta, Ga. Dec 1, 1888
Special meeting of the Board of Trustees in the Ladies Parlor of the Church.
Present: Messrs. Morely, Lederle, Norrman, Kennedy and Klingelsmith
Mr. Lederle was chosen chairman.
Record of the previous meeting were read and accepted.
The new Board as elected by the church at the annual meeting held Nov 26, was then organized and the following committees appointed:
- On Ways and Means – Messrs. Dixon, Burris and Kennedy
- On Care of Property – Lederle, Norrman and Morely
- On Music – Mr. Fisher and one or two ladies of the Auxiliary Committee
- Operations of the Church – Messrs. Winslow, Harding and Klingelsmith
The committee on Care of Property asked that they be allowed until the next meeting to make their report on the improvements of the past few months, which was granted.
In the absence of the Treasurer, no report could be received from him.
A committee of the whole was then appointed to solicit subscriptions for the ensuing year. It was then adopted as the sense of the Board and this committee that the Treasurer should send our first subscription cards to all members of the church and in the absence of the Treasurer Mr. Lederle, as Chairman, of the meeting was asked to do so for the Treasurer.
The solicitation committee could in addition to this solicit subscriptions for the maintenance of the church from any attendant of the church and also see that these cards sent out be signed and filled in and returned promptly.
The meeting then adjourned to meet on next Wednesday evening, the 5th of Dec. at 7:30 pm at the church. (Archivist Note: the original minutes header show a meeting date of Dec 1. Cannot reconcile why they close with a date of Dec 5.)
