Church of Our Father – Meeting Minutes, Oct 15, 1903 (Rev. Langston’s Letter Reconsidering Resignation)

Atlanta, Ga. October 15, 1903

Hamilton Douglas, Esq.,
Atlanta, Ga.

My Dear Mr. Douglas:-

I have carefully considered the request of the church to withdraw my resignation and have decided to accede to it. My resignation was offered in good faith. The situation as it presented itself to me seemed to warrant the step I took.  And while the situation in its personal aspects remains the same as before, yet, your committee has helped me to summon courage to deal with it in another way. I hope, however, that the membership will not consider my decision to remain to involve any meritorious self-sacrifice. It can never be a hardship to live and work with friends.

With cordial greetings to the congregation.

I am, Faithfully yours,

<signed>

C.A. Langston
