Church of Our Father – Meeting Minutes of May 10, 1890 (No Purchase on Organ/Delegates Needed)

Atlanta, Ga. May 10, 1890
A meeting of Board of Trustees at the Church of Our Father May 10th /90.
Messrs. Kennedy, Dixon, Fisher, Crafts, and Rev. Mr. Chaney being present.

Upon motion, Mr. Kennedy was elected Chairman and Mr. Crafts Clerk, pro tem.

Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.

Mr. Chaney read a notice from the American Unitarian Association of it annual meeting on May 2 next and an invitation to our society to appoint two lay delegates together with the pastor to attend. Mrs. Chaney and Mr. Klingelsmith were appointed as the society’s delegates.

After some discussion of the mention of purchasing the organ and as pretty generally expressed opinion by the members present that a majority of the society were not perfectly satisfied with the instrument. Mr. Dixon made a motion, seconded by Mr. Crafts that the Board of Trustees instruct the Music Committee that is was the sense of the Board of Trustees that the society did not deem it advisable to purchase the organ. This motion was carried.

Mr. Dixon Chairman of Committee of Care of Property reported that the present tenants reported that they would vacate on June 1st and that he had notified them that the lease taken by Mr. Means was not up to that date. On motion it was left to the Committee on Care of Property to rent, as they deemed advisable.

Upon motion, meeting adjourned.
