6/2 – Gibson Wilbanks soulful roots folk/blues duo & Cody Marlow’s singer-songwriter roots rock

gibson wilbanks concert atlanta
Hungry Ear Coffeehouse is proud to present the Soulful Roots and Folk/Blues duo, GIBSON WILBANKS!

GW has been working hard on recording their debut album. They will be show-casing the songs from it at this show! Also, this is your chance to get the album first before it even releases! At this show you will be able to PRE-Order the album to secure your copy before it comes out later this year.

GW BIO:
Carly Gibson and BJ Wilbanks are taking the city by storm with their individual solo and band projects in the Atlanta area, but together as Gibson Wilbanks, these two have been called “Gregg Allman meets Bonnie Raitt.” They have combined their considerable songwriting and musical skills to create the unique and popular Southern bluesy sound that helped them to win the coveted songwriter’s open mic competitions at Eddie’s Attic in December of 2011 and in November of 2013 at Eddie Owen Presents @ Red Clay Theatre. Think Gregg Allman meets Bonnie Raitt meets Michael Hedges with a dash of Al Green–in short, an entertaining and joyful experience not to be missed!

Cody Marlowe opens the show!
American born singer-songwriter and roots-rock artist, Cody Marlowe found his inspiration at an early age in the soulful sounds of B.B. King, Merle Haggard, and the Allman Brothers. In the small town of Clermont, Georgia, Cody was born into a family of music. He learned how to play piano from his great-aunt and his mother, took guitar lessons with his grandpa and uncle, and was influenced vocally by his grandma, aunt, and sister.

Marlowe’s songs explore the polarities of good and evil in an intriguing blend of lyrics featuring lost loves and hopeful musings.
