Northwest Members Attend Mountain Board Meeting

Two Northwest members, Mani Subramanian and Jay Kiskel, attended the November 21 – 22, 2015 Board meeting of The Mountain Retreat and Learning Center located near Highlands, NC.

The Mountain Board has the responsibility of ensuring that the mission and vision of The Mountain are carried out and that core Unitarian Universalist values are reflected in The Mountain’s activities and programs.

The Mountain, founded by Unitarian Universalists in 1979, is a non-profit year-round ecologically conscious retreat and learning center serving businesses, non-profits, schools, churches and other groups.

The Mountain offers a wide array of summer camp programs as well as UU youth conferences for elementary school aged children up to high schoolers. In addition to Mountain created programs such as Thanksgiving at The Mountain, The Mountain provides facilities for church retreats and other organizations wishing to enjoy the peace and beauty of a mountaintop retreat center nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains in southwest North Carolina.
