Matthew Kahler and the Mark Tucker Trio with Lori Perozzi at Hungry Ear Coffee House(TM) on August 1

Georgia native Matthew Kahler honed his style in the coffeehouses of Pasadena before returning to Georgia. He draws inspiration from James Taylor and Al Green with several stops in between and consistently delights audiences around the region.

The Mark Tucker Trio with vocalist Lori Perozzi perform a swinging blend of vocal and instrumental standards-with-a-twist as well as original jazz tunes in the classic Blue-Note style. The musicians in the group (Terry Vinyard, Phil Bonpastore, Mark Tucker) have played in New York, Miami and the Atlanta area for a number of years and have honed their chops for the past few years playing small group and big band dates around town.

Lori Perozzi has a rich, mellow voice that has captivated her audiences since she began singing professionally at age 19. Lori’s love of the standards and the soulful sound of the torch singers strongly influenced her vocal style and led her to a sound of her own.

This month’s coffee house will be on August 1 in the Northwest Sanctuary. The performance begins at 8:00 pm and doors open at 7:30. Please consider a donation of $5. Canned goods for the Community Assistance Center (CAC) are also happily accepted.
