AN INTIMATE NIGHT OF JAZZ. NAZIA CHAUDHRY & ALVIN STONE WITH LOUIS HERIVEAUX, OCTOBER 4

Heriveaux, Chaudry, Stone

Rapidly becoming one of Atlanta’s favorite spots for new international talent, the Hungry Ear Coffee House at Northwest Unitarian Universalist Congregation will host Nazia Chaudhry & Alvin Stone performing with Louis Heriveaux on Saturday, October 4th.

Fresh from releasing her debut jazz album, Time After, Nazia Chaudhry (Naz) is quickly gaining attention and acclaim. Performing on a variety of international and American stages including The Kennedy Center, and the Woodruff Arts Center, Naz’s distinctively timeless and rich vocal interpretations of the great American songbook and jazz classics win audiences here and abroad.

Alvin Stone was introduced to New York jazz fans at the Jazz Standard Club in 2008 and the unsuspecting crowd went wild. One critic wrote that “he has a remarkable voice, the kind that doesn’t need a microphone. Alvin’s range is between tenor and baritone and he’s especially effective on ballads”.

Louis Heriveaux commands the piano in an intimate mellow tone, remaining true to the authentic art form while infusing his own personal style. Whether playing ballads with a delicate touch, or a hard, effective swing, the effect he has on his audience is captivating and full of surprises. Louis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a concentration in Jazz Studies, from Georgia State University.
