Did you know . . .
- The price of solar energy has dropped to below 5 cents per kilowatt hour? Cost wise, solar power now beats all forms of competition: oil, nuclear, gas, and coal.
- Apple built the largest privately owned solar farm to run their huge data center in North Carolina.
- Solar City is a company that leases solar panels to homeowners and homeowners will have power at a guaranteed lower cost.
- Solar is part of decentralizing the power industries. This is especially important in Georgia, where Ga. Southern is a monopoly.
- In Germany, 75% of the power generated is from solar and wind.
- One day two weeks ago in Germany, the combination of solar and wind was so great that the price of energy was zero (free.)
- The model of customers buying power from utility companies is going to change quickly and soon. A projection from Elon Musk, Chairman of Solar City, is that within 20 years, the US will get more power from solar than any other source.
